“Fiat justitia ruat caelum”

“Let justice be done even if the heavens fall.”

In our day, justice sometimes seems like a distant shore. Our justice system seems fundamentally unequal, and in more and more countries equality before the law is no longer a guarantee. Money and powerful friends are reasons to be found not guilty, not a lack of guilt. Most of us think that these grave injustices would never happen in our own country. Yet even in Western democracies, it seems like some are more equal than others. We must see justice prevail, even if the sky falls down on us.

We chose this quote because it signifies this important mission in a short manner. As a school that teaches Latin and Greek, we also thought it fitting to use this quote, that has been used in the legal sphere since, most probably, Roman times.
